This sexy mama of two is my good friend, Lacy.
She celebrated her 5th year Anniversary on Saturday so we took the chance to get her all spiffed up!
She’s pretty dang gorgeous without a lick of makeup so, of course, I wanted to keep her looking natural…but still play up her eyes with a smokey stare that anyone, no matter what color locks, looks drop dead in.
What I used:
Maybelline Eye Studio Eyeshadow in Caffeine Rush
SEPHORA Long-Lasting Liquid Eye Liner in Black
Urban Decay Afterglow Cheek Tint in Quickie
Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Golden Light
My own concealer mix (similar to Clinique Even Better Concealer in Buttermilk)
CoverGirl Perfect Blend Eyeliner Pencil in Mink
Soap & Glory Super-Colour Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Plumping Gloss in Half Naked (weird name?)
I didn’t want to make her late for her date by taking a bunch of photos in between so I am going to recreate this look on myself so that you can see exactly how it was done!
Happy Tuesday babes!

She looks gorgeous! Looking forward to your tutorial for that!
Wow Cara! She looks amazing and I love the look! Thx <3
Looking hot Lacey! Good work!
Wow, she is so pretty! And, your work is awesome. I’m excited to see your tutorial on this because no matter how hard I try, I just can’t seem to succeed in giving myself that gorgeous subtle smokey eye – especially on the bottom lid. Looking forward to it!
Finally, a blonde!
Love your tips and tutorials, I would really love it if you featured cruelty free products. I look up every product on beautypedia to see if it’s cruelty free. Here’s a link to the overall part of the site http://www.paulaschoice.com/beautypedia-product-reviews/animal-testing/
She looks great! Love her curls too.
You are so fab! Thank you for doing my makeup, and you totally could have take. Pictures in between. Maybe you’ll just have to do it again?!! I’m game… Love you an your mad skillz. Xo
Wow, this look is so lovely, I hate it when you do looks for other people and I want to try them so badly! xxx

She looks so beautiful! She was beautiful before the make up but now she has a gorgeous glow! Happy five year anniversary! I’m loving the blonde tutorial! A Blake Lively tutorial would be awesome for a celebrity look! Thank you Cara for this blog. I check it daily and am always so excited when there is a new post!
She looks great! Can we get a tutorial on her hair next?!? I have no idea how to get those beautiful relaxed curls, is it with a curlstick or curling iron? PS. I just discovered your blog a few weeks ago through Pinterest and I loooove reading it. You are so talented!
Gorgeous! Can ‘t wait to see what it looks like on a brunette!!!
Total knock out! I have the same coloring (skin, not hair…I wish I could pull off that blonde!) as Lacey, so I’m anxious to know how you made her all glowy and warm looking.
Just gorgeous!! I am looking forward to your tutorial because I have similar eyelids to your friend. Would you call these hooded eyelids? If you could spend some extra time explaining the eye makeup and demonstrate the best approach for dealing with these types of eyes, it would be great!
I was just going to post the same thing! Lacy’s eyes are similar to mine and I love the look you did. I love to play up my eyes but feel like you can’t see anything by the time I’m done b/c of my lids.
That’s amazing! I can’t wait to see how this looks on a fellow brunette!
Yes please do a tutorial! I love this look but I have no idea how to replicate it at home. Looking forward to seeing how it’s done!
Love that lip color!
Thankyou!! You are the best!! Does this lipstick last pretty long? I have naturally REALLY red lips and i hate it on me! or do you have any tricks for that!
Try applying foundation to your lips and then put on whatever lipstick color you would like. I have to do that because my lips are naturally red as well.
I have this problem also! Is there any way to find out what foundation you used on Lacey?
thanks so much for this!!
I dont know if you have already posted how to do hair like that, but if you haven’t I would love to see it! I love your site! Awesome tutorials!
Really cute. I’d love a step-by-step!
Do you do make-up lessons? Since you live in Az now…and not that far from me, I’m interested in having you do my make-up. If you’re interested please email me at [email protected] so we can work out the details! I’ve emailed you before at [email protected] but it probably went to your spam box. Thx
Oh, do a red heads make up! It’s so hard to figure out with looks good on my skin
What foundation did you use?
Love the look! Would love a tutorial! Also would you mind sharing your recipe for your “concealer mix”? So so very pretty! Happy anniversary to your friend!
love it!!! the blush is so pretty!!!
My hubby’s jaw dropped when I showed him the ‘after’ pic lol
I’ve been following you since finding you on Pinterest several months ago. I’m a senior citizen (64) and never learned to apply makeup, but have started experimenting since finding your blog. These before and after pictures have made a believer of me on the HAC you talk about. I’ll be trying it soon. Thank you, thank you for taking the time to teach us all how to be beautiful
She’s perfection! I love your blog Cara. I’m so happy I found you!
Thank you for all of the tutorials. Learned a few tricks I didn’t know and also helped a couple of my friends out who aren’t so savvy with makeup. Then made them watch your tutorials.
I can’t wait to see how you did this! I’m going to order the items needed tonight . I have similar coloring (skin & hair) and never know how to pull off a smokey eye without it looking silly or overdone. My eyes are set a bit farther back also. She looks gorgeous!!!
Isn;t she stunning!? I know the farther back eyes can be a tinsy more challenging with makeup because like you said, it doesn’t take much too look like too much! but they are SO beautiful so it’s worth it!
hi, I’m blond have the same skin tone, but the mink looks so dark on my lip. i’m going to try again bc I absolutely love how it looks in your tutorials, but I must be doing too much.
Did you do any contouring on her? She has the exact same skin color as me, I have been debating getting the bahama mama, it looks so great on you, but I am worried it is a little too dark for me, but that physicians formula color you recommended for lighter skinned girls is a little too light for contouring on me. Just wondering what you used on her so I can finally get cracking on mastering HAC! you are the best!
Really looking forward to this tutorial too! She looks gorgeous!
LOVE this look! I have blonde hair, light eyebrows, hooded blue eyes, and a light complexion– I would LOVE to see a tutorial!
Also, what would you recommend for blonde eyebrows? I know for brown eyes you’ve mentioned Anastasia Brow Powder Duo.
Thanks!

How does she get this ombre blonde hair? I have had trouble finding someone who can do this right! They only know how to do the ombre from brown hair. I have really similar natural hair color to hers. I’d love a tutorial or at least info to give my hair dresser!!
