Merry Merry Merry Christmas!

I didn’t make a Christmas card this year. I made one last year…but never actually sent it.
I might need a life coach.
At any rate:
Here’s a Merry Christmas all the way from 2011 to NOW!

I really hope you all have the most magical beautiful and wonderful Christmas ever!
This year you have brightened my days and put a smile on my face more times than I can count.
Your messages, comments and emails have made me laugh so hard, tear up, get the chills, shake my head and everything in between.
When I first started blogging I was preparing myself for the rude comments I have seen unhappy people leave over the internet blogosphere. I figured it was inevitable and maybe it is but to date I have honestly not received one unkind comment on this blog.
A couple youtubers have told my on a few occasions how ugh I look without makeup on (which I actually take as a huge compliment cause it means I must be pretty good at makeup. Being born hot isn’t really a talent anyway right?)
But even that was on youtube, not this blog.
The few criticisms I have gotten have been constructive and greatly appreciated.
Anyway, I don’t want to get all blubbery and cheesed out on you I just want to say.

You are marvelous.
Here’s to another fun filled year!

Thank you a million times.
Love,

(Also I apologize for not getting more posts up before Christmas, Christian got really sick which got me sick and then BAM I haven’t wrapped anything…You know the deal. I have some goodies on the burner though for after Christmas!)

That cracks me up! I didn’t get cards out either, even with the best of intentions. Oh well! The sickness is still in the process of making it through our house. My mom, my husband, my 2 sons and me. What a mess. Somehow Christmas will still happen!

Thank you for your fabulous blog and happy holidays to you and yours!

  14. Hi!

I have been a follower for a really long time on both blog and youtube. I love reading your posts (ive spoken of your videos and posts only my blog before) and watching your videos. You have inspired me in so many ways and have given me to many tips on make up. I adore you! Any person that would even think or speak negative is just an unhappy individual and only wants that for everyone around them. I hope you and uour adorable little family have a wonderful Christmas!

I am glad you are taking time this Christmas to be with your family… planned or unplanned. I LOVE your blog and look forward to every new post but I really think we all should pause this time of year to tune in to Christmas and it’s impact. Thanks for being the best and most relevant blogger on beauty! You could never be ugg! How silly are they??? Merry Christmas!
P.S. im so glad to know I’m not the only one who doesn’t get the cards out on time!

  19. Gillian says:

Merry Christmas to you and your family too! Love your blog – thanks for being so inspiring! And i love how you’re not scared to show ‘before’ shots – good for you!!

  20. Carey says:

I can’t believe someone would say you look ugly without makeup. I would love to look like you makeup-less! If I were you, I wouldn’t even wear it. No wonder we have such self-esteem problems in boys and girls (especially). It’s like nothing is ever good enough. No one wakes up looking like a Victoria’s Secret model – not even the models themselves!

  21. Nik says:

Wish you a very merry Christmas, as well! I just discovered your blog recently, but you have something very special beyond your talent with makeup — you have a fantastic attitude and great outlook on life. As much as I like learning about how to make my face purdy, I think I enjoy your upbeat writing and goofiness even more. Have a great holiday!

    Cheers

Two weeks ago my sister in law sent me the link to HAC Yourself Flawless. Since then I have steadily worked my way backwards through all your blogs reading every single one and watching most of the videos. Even my husband has sat down to watch a couple clips (including the man brow advice) and my three year old daughter has been curious why, all of a sudden, I’m glued to my laptop (sorry baby).

After about day 7 of reading I spent $140 on brushes and new makeup that I hadn’t intended on spending this month. I’m a budget nut so this is significant. All this to say I enjoy what you’re doing and hope you keep it up because as of two weeks ago, you’re the only blog I follow (not to insinuate I don’t read but in about every case aside from this one I prefer books to computers).

Happy Christmas to you and your little family.

Hope you have a very merry Christmas and New year!!
Don’t pay any mind to negative comments, you are beautiful with or without makeup!! And your son is the cutest!! I am so grateful to have found your blog… As embarrassing as this sounds, I have spent years trying to figure out how to apply makeup in the most flattering way and I found myself getting frustrated and feeling hopeless. After watching your videos about which products your recommend, HAC, or even the mommy look (I am no where near being a mother yet) but each video has something useful for any type of day or mood. Thanks to your blog, i feel much more confident and actually excited about using makeup. Thank you for taking time to share your tutorials/pics/vids/words! They do not go unappreciated!! Looking forward to the next one

  27. Jessica says:

That was verry sweet thank you. I’m a new follower of yours and I’m looking forward to watching & learning from your make up tutorials. You have really inspired me to get the contouring down, & I love your mommy make up. I’m even in the process of getting a make up vanity in my room to have a place to sit & do my make up & watch your great tutorials.. Thank you again.

Merry Christmas to you & your family.

    Jessica =)

    Hi Cara,
First I just want to say thank you for putting yourself out there! It takes a strong and caring girl to put herself out there and with not make-up! (which btw you look angelic and beautiful without it!!) I am a make-up artist is Scottsdale and use to live in st George;) I tell all the new girls that we train to subscribe to your blog. Saves me training lol. But really your work is simple quick easy and beautiful. I love that it isn’t about the brushes or the high end expensive make-up and down to basics that truly work. I’m rambling now, but wanted you to know you are very much appreciated you help girls feel beautiful inside and out and you are an inspiration for me to do the same everyday! Hope Christmas was good to you! Have a wonderful New Year!!
    Cheers!

  29. Jessica says:

Love your blog Cara!!! I follow it so closely, each post is interesting and helpful.

I really like this card – do you do know what font you used for the “Merry Christmas” type?

    All my best,
    Jessica

Discovered your blog and I have been devouring your videos on youtube! Two questions for you. 1.) How often do you wash your makeup brushes? and 2.) Do you reuse your false lashes and if so how many uses do you get from them? Thanks! P.S. Love you as a blonde but you’re a dead ringer for Kim K.!

  32. Sara says:

Hi Cara, I am a new follower of your blog and I already absolutely love it! I was just wondering what younwould recommend for long lasting makeup. I’ve tried Revlon, Covergirl, Maybelline, Victorias Secret. I have yet to find a favorite!
    Thanks,
