MYSTERY REVEALED!

IT WAS:
Professor Plumb (Ok Dr. Plumb)
In the Laboratory (or the dentist office on bluff street)
With the Laser!

I have always been uncomfortable with my gums, I just felt like my gum to teeth ratio was off…
I was nervous for so long to get a gingivectomy because I didn’t know what to expect!
So when I did finally get the guts I decided to document it so none of you will have that same problem!

Dr. Plumb and his staff did an amazing job! The minute I walked in I felt welcome and comfortable. I was so happy that he took great care not to take too much of my gums off and to make sure it still looked natural.

If you aren’t grossed out by lazering gums go ahead and watch this video to find out how it was done!

  1. Looks great! I had this same procedure done by my dentist and I couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out! It looks like it went well for you too!

  2. Casey says:

A friend of mine had hers done as well. You look great!

  3. Tara Thomas says:

Is it really expensive and/or painful? I have been thinking about this too!

  4. Brittanyour says:

Awesome! I’ve been wanting to do this for YEARS! My smile is crooked because one side raises higher and is gummy, drives me nuts. As others have inquired, how much does this type of procedure cost and what was your recover like? Thanks for posting!!!

  5. emlo says:

    isn’t it gingivectomy?

  6. Emily says:

I did this a few years ago! One of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made…no more covering up my mouth when I smile or laugh!

  7. amy says:

Is it expensive? i have the same problem but never knew this could be done!!!

  8. Ashleigh says:

I’m sure it’s different for every dentist but do you need all the money up front or can you do payment plans?

  9. Lisa says:

    Hi Cara
Looks great, having been in Dental for 20 + years, I will as politely as possible, tell you, it is a gingivectomy….not GingeRvectomy. No”r” hun!!
    Great blog!!!

  10. Krista says:

Where did the video go? I’m trying to talk my husband into letting me do this!

  11. mandar says:

What was recovery like? Also, did you get bleaching or lengthening of your teeth done? I will be getting this procedure done at the end of the year, and I am just curious. Thanks! : )

    • caralynee says:

My gums were a little raw to the touch for a couple of days. No other side effects. I did get my teeth bleached but not lengthened. GOOD LUCK!

  12. Lindsay says:

How long is this recovery? i am very interested in getting this done!!

  13. Marissa says:

I work at a dental office and I have our price sheet in front of me: a Gingivectomy is $123.00 for 1 to 3 teeth, so it depends on how many you want to done!

    • Jenna Free says:

I am in Canada and I just had a consultation for gingivectomy and theyre quoting me $3400.00!! I cannot believe it. Where is your dental office that you work at? Even with our health care coverage maybe its easier to just come to the US and pay outright. Please let me know! Thanks

      • Cara says:

Jenna! I got mine done at Plumb Dentistry in Southern Utah! It’s quite a jaunt from Canada but perhaps you could get a second opinion, that sounds way too expensive!
