Nose contouring tips: Long Thin Nose

So this beautiful woman has a gorgeous long thin nose.

Of all of the noses this is the one that breaks the rules of nose contouring the most, so I felt like it was time I addressed it! So first I’ll demonstrate traditional nose contouring.

Pretty basic: contour lines down the sides of the nose – highlight down the bridge and on the sides of the nose.

The purpse of those lines is to diminish the size of the nose and make it less of a focal point on the face (leaving your eyes and smile to steal the show!) The problem here is that she already has a very thin nose and by contouring it you are deepening the shadows on the side and making the nose more pronounced.

Instead I normally use the same highlighting foundation that I use under the eyes on the whole nose. It helps diminish the shadows on the side and still shows off the pretty thinness without letting it become the star. If I do any contouring at all I will do a subtle amount on the bottom of the nose.

now you see that gorgeous thin beauty of a nose perfectly without over enhancing it with too much contour:)

Hope this helps some of you! Love you!

You’re totally right, she looks way better without the full contour! Thanks for the idea! 🙂

This really helps me, too! I have a thin, pointy nose that I used to be uncomfortable with, but have grown in to as I’ve gotten older & learned more about makeup. What I DO realize from your tutorial, however, is that I don’t think my contour color is dark enough! I better order up another one STAT! xx
