Bright Eyed Makeup Tutorial

WOW. That must have been one of the longest breaks I’ve ever taken from the blog!
The last couple of weeks have been a really exciting whirlwind. I’ve been working on some awesomeΒ things with the Biz for one that I CANNOT WAIT TO SHOW YOU!

I also had a last minute trip to Hawaii last week to support my husband in his tournament! A few years ago Nick and I were both hacking away at our dream careers. It seemed like neither of us were able to do it on our own so we decided to team up. We made a deal that if Nick took some time off golf to help me get my business off the ground then I could be in more of a position to help him. I know it was hard for him to do that but I was so grateful that he believed in me enough to take the chance. Now that we are in a position where we have a team that can help run things we’ve been able to switch some of our focus back to him and his goals and so far he’s seen more success than ever. It’s really exciting!

It got me thinking about all of the times growing up that I heard that I should establish my career before getting married or having a family, for us it has always been the opposite. I don’t think I could have done any of it so far without my boys.

On to the tutorial! This has been my go-to everyday makeup look lately!

What I used:

IIID Foundation in light (white peach + walnut + pink grapefruit + moonlit (coming in a couple weeks!) + shadow)

MAC Eyeshadow in Brun & saddle

Nude Stix Lip Color in Love

Lip Liner (sample) Similar: NYX in Taupe

Have a wonderful Thursday!!!

Beautiful as always! Love the selflessness of your relationship with the hubs! Very encouraging to see a break from the “ME ME ME!” Mentality that our world seems to focus on now in marriages πŸ™‚ Reminds me of 1 Corinthians 13, “Love is patient, Love is kind…”

Cara – I would love an update on your botox/filler situation. Did you keep it up on your forehead? I noticed in this video that looks like you have — your skin looks amazing! I try to keep up a conservative combination of good products + good makeup + a little extra help and would love your insight

Absolutely!! I get it between my brows but haven’t on my forehead yet because I tend to struggle more with the “furrow” and u have a little filler in my under eye cheek area where I get sunken in dark under eyes:) I really love it!

Your lashes!!! How are yours so thick & dark? I just had the HD Xtreme lashes put on in December, they do not look as good as yours and was applied by the best in my area. I would love to read a post regarding upkeep. washing & wearing make up with them.

Beautiful makeup as always. I was hoping when you get a chance if you could do Kendall Jenner inspired eye makeup lesson. She seems to have the perfect neutral/golden eye lid with some illuminating color on the inner corner of her eye. Pretty pretty please πŸ™‚

There is literally ZERO photoshop in this photo. There’s also a video (which can’t be photoshopped to my knowledge) so you can see it in live action. If you close up you can see all the skin texture and blemishes. Just the power of makeup:)

As always you look stunning, but I’m starting to feel like it’s the same ole same ole with all of these looks just being variations of the exact same thing. One of the aspects that I loved about your blog was the variety in products and looks along with the celebrity tutorials but I just haven’t seen anything new in a really long time.

This is a great tutorial & helps me remember to use the IIID – I feel like I get stuck in a rut where I’m “afraid” to use it & reach for a simpler powder – especially when I am in a rush to get out the door in the mornings.

I hear you (above commenters) on the photoshopping – I brought in a pic of Cara’s hair color from a post a few months back to my stylist & she was like “uhhhhh….that is an instagram filter, NOT a real hair color!”
Then she went on a rant about how filters are ruining people’s expectations for what hair colors they can achieve in real life. LOL! We got close with a black cherry/purple lowlights, but not exact.

That funny! I’d be interested to see what photo she was talking about? I find it’s always helpful to show my stylist the same hair in a variety of photos to get a clear idea of what I want. Since it can look totally different in different lighting, styling and yes different filters. ❀️
