10 Minute Makeover

I think there’s a good chance I needed this video more than anyone else will! I’ve really gotten a lot better at doing my own makeup since the taylor swift video..because I just don’t have any way to rationalize 4 minutes of my life to feel 100 times better all day but I still was throwing my hair in a perma-bun LOTS of the time.

So I decided I needed to add hair into the mix for the quick get ready situation and I was actually quite shocked how quickly it’s possible to take it from totally gross to pretty dang cute.

So here’s my unabridged 10 minute get up for any of you who need a little extra inspiration and also for those of you who have asked for a full video minus the skipping ahead and FF. This is in real time no edits!

Did you do a “pre-treat” that we didn’t see? Guessing you used a lip plumper and primer/moisturizer? Of course if you didn’t, I wouldn’t be surprised – you’re skin looks great!!

This comes at the most perfect time for me!! I just got my hac pack and 30 second brush in the mail yesterday and I can’t wait to try it out! I’m totally a under ten minute kind of girl because frankly, I don’t enjoy spending my time in front of the mirror for a long time. But I do love the way I look when I spend some time there so that’s why I’m so excited about your products and tutorials!! Thank you!!

Be patient Tessa… I’ve had mine for about 4 weeks now. At first, I liked it. Now, I love it! I’ve watched many videos and each time picked up a trick that I could try on the lines of my own face. I know it’ll just keep getting better, but now I would never go back to normal foundation.

Is there any word on a highlight for fair/very fair skin? I’ve bought the original highlight and the reformulated highlight, and both are too dark. But I LOVE the new formula. 🙁

Does the linen highlight work on you or is that too dark? I usually have to buy the fairest shade of foundation and it works on me! I’ve found it looks a little bit dark on me, but then I blend it with my perfector and it looks perfect!

I have the linen already but it always looks orange and cakey on me even if I do blend well and use just a bit. I I also think I have a lot of pink undertones in my skin and a few freckles so maybe that’s why also?

It doesn’t look wildly dark on me, but it definitely doesn’t provide a “lit from within” or highlighting effect because it’s not lighter than my current skin tone. =\highligh

I too have the same high-maintenance hair issue so I’m going to try this. I have a feeling what you did in 3 mins will take me 20. haha

The brushes are all Cara’s! When you shop for her products, you will see them on the same website (maskcaracosmetics.com). I have the original long handled brush, and it is AMAZING. So perfectly soft. I’m going to buy this one next, which is called the 30-Second HAC brush, or something like that.
Hope that helps, I think you will love her products!

Wondering, with a few other gals here, about the size of the curling iron. I followed the link you gave to the 1 1/4″ and want to confirm this before purchasing (it’s chilling in my amazon cart). Yup, this amazing little vid just cost me more $ than I’d like to admit! But I need all of the help I can get and you make looking flawless so easy. Thanks for breaking it down.

I can’t seem to get my IIID makeup to stay where I put it, it slides around everywhere, and if I touch my face at any time it rubs right off. I feel like I’m doing everything right, starting with an oil free primer and setting with a loose translucent powder. Do you have any other suggestions?

Agh! I’m so sad that pallette is sold out because I was seriously ready to make my first ever REAL make up purchase! I’m so scared of doing ‘real’ make up (like something besides eyebrow pencil and eyeliner only) and your make up looks so natural. I have a wedding I’m going to in a couple of weeks and I was like, Okay, maybe, just maybe I can ‘hack’ this. Wah!!! Oh well. At least you made me consider something I never would have before! Love all your looks! (Also, does the ‘end of the month’ potentially mean sometime during the next week? he he ok ok)
