Before & Afters Makeup

Makeover Monday – Shannon

Holy cow! Long time no talk! I think it’s really important to take a break every now and then when you feel like you’re getting a little stale! It totally helps reignite my excitement! Thank you so much for allowing a little time off!
OK so this is continuing our over 40 series.
Shannon is so beautiful. Her personality is as bright and glowing as her gorgeous face! She was preparing for her son’s wedding and said her makeup hadn’t really changed since she started wearing it. I think that’s pretty common. You get into the groove and you have a routine and then you just stick to it! Making a changes seems kind of overwhelming.
I especially notice that some things like heavy eye liner, make such a big impact that once you’ve gotten used to the way you look with it you feel completely naked without it!
Beautiful makeover and tips on 40+ makeup!

There are a few key tips in each of these videos so if you have a minute they’re worth watching:)

What I used:

Maskcara IIID Foundation in Medium Dark ( sunlit + stone + pink grapefruit on cheeks & lips (NOW BACK IN STOCK!) Pearl)

Brun on the brows

IT Naturally Pretty Palette in Mocha & Sunrise on the eyes

YSL Shocking Mascara

IT cosmetics brow liner (on the lips)

Too Faced Lip Plumper

Beautiful woman to begin with, I can’t imagine she has a son old enough to get married! Great makeover, you really made her glow. I love the tips/hints from this video– I have been using your HAC Pack for a couple weeks now (loving it!), and I’m really excited to see the peach blush is back in stock

Wow…that looks amazing!! I’d never know that you didn’t use the ‘typical’ eyeliner. I think I, too, go overboard on eyeliner so this makes me want to look back at your tutorials on how to do eyes! Thanks so much, Cara, for giving us 40+ish ladies some extra help!! 😉

Hi Cara! You always do an amazing job! She is stunning to say the least! I was wondering what other brushes you were using on her, I really like them especially the one you used to put the highlight on with? The bigger one with a little bit tapered end and gold rims? It looks similar to the one you sell but bigger. I’d love to know! Pretty please?

I echo what so many others have said, she looks ten years younger. Wonderful tips about the under eye highlighter. I’ve been using a pinkish shade, and like you mentioned, it does look a little ashy. I’ll definitely be trying this. Wonderful video, and you’ve definitely been missed!

Beautiful make over! Just love your work… Would you be able to give some inside advise on concealer. I walked into the store yesterday to pick a concealer and asked for help but I left without concealer and more confused. The lady that helped me asked if I wanted to correct or cover up with makeup (concealer). my dark under eye circles are hereditary and with two young children that still wake up at night does no justice. I’m looking for a concealer that is a bit on the thicker side that the liquid concealer I have been using. Any thoughts or comments are appreciated:)

As a 49 year old woman, I have discovered that making subtle changes to my makeup routine over time have helped me look younger even as I get older! Substituting softer and more subtle eyeliner for dark, bold eyeliner was certainly the biggest change and had the largest impact. Well done, Cara, another excellent makeover!

Wow, this is amazing! Her complexion is just glowing. And what a difference adjusting the two 80s giveaways (the full-brow wispy bangs and the bright pink shadow/heavy liner – and I know because I’m about the same age!) made to her overall look! Totally beautiful, and those dimples!! Love.
