Before & Afters Makeup

Monday Makeover – Sydney from Day Book

Have you guys ever stumbled on The Day Book Blog?
If you have you surely fell in love with Sydney, the writer, mother and otherwise beautiful + charming & stylish lady who runs the place.
Not too long ago, much to my excitement, she moved to my area (St. George, UT) and we became friends. She’s so fun to hang out with and her kids are amazingly cute. I was thrilled to get the chance to makeup her already naturally beautiful face.

She is absolutely radiant. Her eyes are obviously THE WORLD but then you look at her lips and they kind of take over your heart. Then her cheeks sort of scream out at you.
It’s hard to even handle in all honesty:)

I couldn’t pick a feature to focus on so I just went for it and blasted them all out of the water.

What I used: (Makeup capsule approved)

IIID Foundation in sunlit + walnut (should be back in stock by the end of this week!)  +ruby (blush & lips)+ pearl
MAC Brun on the brows
City Plumper on the lips (mostly I use this to exfoliate the lips – don’t know why it works it just does)
Black Eyeliner on her top lash line.
Too faced Milk chocolate Bronzer
Too Faced Better Than Sex Maskcara

OH and I completely forgot to add! I used bronzer on her lids and Esqido false lashes in BFF on her as well!

I think she pretty much exemplifies a perfect summer glow!

Just beautiful. As you wrote, Sydney is absolutely beautiful without makeup. Makeup – and your deft hand at applying it – enhances her beauty even more. And those babies are just precious! Gorgeous family!

I would love to see a video
on how you did her hooded eyes, I have them to. Do you think a wing is ever appropriate for them?

I”l work on that! I think more often than not the wing actually drags them down quite a bit! I’ve seen it look beautiful but it’s much harder to pull off! The biggest thing I’ve noticed is LASHES they make a giant difference!

I love this look. I love the big differences that a few bits of makeup can do. She’s totally beautiful both ways though!

beautiful! your link to the lip color is clear. What is the actual color that you used?? There is such a difference between the before and after for it to be clear! I have similar coloring and am curious!

She used the blush from her IIID palette on the lips.

Brun is like the eyebrow equivalent of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants jeans. HOW does it work on soooo many women?!? I’m very tempted to buy it and the darn IT cosmetics brush but I just do not need them. I have tried the Loreal Antique Brown shadow(which was ok), NYX Charcoal Brown (great color), and now I am using Laura Geller in Brunette (I like the two tones in one compact). Do those little grooves on the IT brush play nice with the shadow? They seem pretty tough/harsh.

What a beauty! It’s like you turned on the light with a soft early evening sun setting on her face. You just want to smile when you look at her. You think of butterflies & a bouquet of delicate pink, white, & yellow roses & peonies.. Another work of art, Miss Cara! 🙂 She looks just beautiful! You made everything pop without shouting. Very lovely!

Were there any eye shadows used? If so, can you list the names? Thanks!

Beautiful!! I do have to ask, did you use any shadow on her lids, and if so, which ones. I have eyes similar to hers and love what you did with them! Also, did you use lashes on her (which ones, if so) because if not, I need to go out and buy a lifetime supply of that Too Faced mascara!! Haha!!
