Before & Afters Makeup

makeover monday – amanda

I had this mostly ready to post Sunday night (cause I post at night and schedule for the morning) I went to feed Billy and put him to bed before getting to work and the next thing I knew it was 3 am!
He’s been waking up a lot during the night lately and I guess it was catching up to me. So I have about 15 more minutes before Monday is over to get this bad boy up for you guys before Monday is over!

I had the pleasure of playing makeup with this beautiful lady. She does a lot of modeling and such so I’ve seen her in a large variety of looks (Vivianne the great has done her makeup a few times in wildly different but equally beautiful ways!) so I wanted to see her in something totally different than before.
Her new haircut inspired me to try a ‘twiggy’ type look that was heavy on the lashes (lower especially) and luminous milky white skin.

This is awesome! She’s gorgeous and I especially like what you did with her eyelashes. Although I do wish we could see a little bit more of her skin peeking out.

Thank you! Yes, I usually do leave me skin showing, I wanted to mix it up a bit and go a little more porcelain on this one!

It did on her lower lashes! The uppers are mostly falsies to blame! (linked above)

I agree with Melissa – would love to see step by step for videos of your before/after posts. I am very fair like the model (though not as stunningly gorgeous, ha ha) and I am having a hard time getting the same level of coverage from my custom palette (same combo as the model) as I do with foundation, powder, etc. Maybe I just need to get used to it….it’s a different look I think.

It is different (because of the dewey finish) so it can through you. I usually don’t use quite as much as I did here (cause I like the natural look more than the porcelain look) but the foundation is buildable. If you want a more flawless finish I would recommend trying to use more linen to cover more of your face:)

    She looks just beautiful.

I love how you use make-up to create a look.
    These Monday makeovers are inspiring.

Yes, these women are beautiful without make-up but they go to level “wow” with it.

Mesmerizing! I would love to see more make-overs with short-haired ladies! I have had a pixie-do for years and, without hair to supplement the look, make up is key!

I’d love to talk about those undereyes… i have dark, sunken circles (albeit much worse than she does) and makeup just seems to cake.

I’m with you Jennifer! I also have dark circles – much darker than hers, and my makeup cakes as well. If I try to blend more, then it’s like I’ve rubbed the makeup off. 🙁 If anyone has tips, I would love them.

Also, I notice a tad bit of a blemish/redness to her natural tone – which I also struggle with. But, Cara was able to completely cover and “eliminate” the tone and blemish. Tips for this as well, anyone?

I love that she isn’t bronzed and hac’d up:) Even her brows are a step away from your normal makeovers. They look more natural and I LOVE that! She looks fierce! Amazing amazing job Cara!!!
