Fantasy Bachelor Brow over

Something happens when you share with the world your brow obsessions. The world shares their brow obsessions back.
I can’t tell you how many people have so kindly taken the time to draw my attention to the beautiful Carly from this seasons installment of The Bachelor (also known as, The Show Where 20 women date and fall in love with one dude and we all pretend it’s TOTALLY Ok and normal -insert side eye-)
Carly is a such gorgeous girl. I couldn’t help but want to reach through the telly and shape those brows of hers, so I decided to fulfill my needs by way of photoshop.

Isn’t it amazing how much her incredible eyes stand out with a little softening and lengthening to the arches?

We’ve all had shame in our brow game at some point, right?
I spent many a year with pencil thin blondies hovering over my eyes.
As exhibited in this photo of mostly my arm but also my brows (barely there), my sister and our gal pal Shania.
No big deal;)

Do you guys have any bad brow days you need to confess? #nojudgement

It really bothered me to see her with those brows! What is your thought on tatooing to fill in the missing hairs due to being tweezer happy? (for those hairs who will never grow back?)

Wondering about the tattooing as well. Aside from over plucking as a teen, I also have a thyroid issue that causes my eyebrows not to grow in towards the outside edges. I fill them in everyday and I feel like it would be amazing to wake up with perfect brows already! lol

I have mine tattooed on and it’s the best money I’ve ever spent on a beauty item. I absolutely love it. It’s really important to go to someone with great work and experience though because it has the potential to go awry! As a cosmetologist, I have seen a lot of bad brow tatooes as well…

You did this in such a classy, non-judgmental way! And yes! I’ve had some brow shame….I have very thick, bushy brows and up until a couple of years ago I didn’t even shape them. Then a friend gently suggested I do so…and wow what a difference! Can’t believe I went so many years looking like Bert from Sesame Street LOL.

Thank you! Hahaha! I say to my husband every week how much her brows bother me. Mine are not perfect by any means, so I shouldn’t judge. But I really liked her so I really paid attention to her and I just couldn’t help but mentally draw her brows in when I watched her talk. I just recently said to him, “this would really bug one of the girls who’s blog I read”…meaning you! So to wake up and read this post was hilarious! ! No offense to Carly though cause I really did like the way she told it like it is about Brit. So funny!

According to Carly’s Instagram, she has a thyroid condition where her brow hair has not grown in ten years! Apparently people have taken to Twitter/Instagram to give her a hard time about her brows, but she just jokes right back with them. She seems like such a cool girl!

Hmm… Interesting. I thought my thinning brows were just a natural part of aging (I’m 33), but now I’m wondering if my thyroid issues are the culprit.

If you’re a brow virgin, go to a salon that specializes in brow shaping. You should be able to google/yelp to find one near you, especially if you’re in a city. I’m in Seattle and there’s a gal that, while expensive, does God’s work with brows. DO NOT go to some random, janky ass corner nail shop!

I never overplucked, which is amazing as I was a teenager in the early-mid 90s and Drew Barrymore’s teensy skinny arches were everywhere. But my greater sin was not plucking AT ALL, so all photos of me until I was about 22 feature me with my kinda scraggly overgrown brows, even when I’m otherwise in ok makeup (was any 90s makeup really ok? Discuss). Sigh.

I LOVE 90s make up! Well maybe not all of it but at least the girls on Friends had it goin on! And I say scraggly brows are better than the thin ones so I’m sure it’s not as bad as you think!

I didn’t have thin brows in fact, when I look at old picks, what you first notice are brows! Not a unibrow…I knew how to pluck, but my grams said don’t pluck too much or they might not grow back! So it took me years…I saw an Oprah episode about 15 years ago I guess where a makeup artist taught about brow shaping! Thank you, Oprah! Haha. Now, I’m learning a ton from you about highlighting and contouring. I wish I could get a makeover from you! 😉 Thanks, Cara!!

Remember the early 90’s when both Drew Barimore and Charlise Theron had barely there 20’s style brows? I jumped on that bandwagon, made a television movie and realized, to my horror, as I watched myself on tv, how truly awful of a look it was. I would dig the tape out of a box and do a screen grab, but I think it might be best to let bad brows lie. : )

Yes! I have brow problem right now! Help me! I either get mine threaded or waxed (I’m the type with dark, course hair) because it’s a lot of work plucking out all those crazy hairs. But no matter how much I emphasize to the beautician I only want the ones out of place removed they still seam to take a whole layer off. My brows keep getting thinner and thinner and I can’t fill them in w/o it looking obvious! Please help!

That’s so hard, I know exactly what you mean! My brow’s outer third would never grow in (also happened to a family member with a thyroid problem) but I found a product that helps stimulate natural hair growth from European Wax (it’s called Restore It, like $20 and it lasts forever) that uses grain proteins to stimulate growth in areas it already should be. It totally grew my brows back in!! Another solution could be tatoo, there are some awesome new cosmetic tattooing methods that can simulate powder texture or even individual hairs! (Soooo much more natural looking that a thick solid line). But I also recommend that you find a good estitician and keep with her for a bit, you’ll get way better results than you get in the nail salons and really can be about the same price. (Again I recommend European Wax if you’re in the US, they’re all over). Good luck!!

I’m wondering if anyone else is feeling total frustration on the roll out of your products. I spent over $130 and now a shipping label has been created. I someone who ships inventory on a daily basis this is totally mis leading because it doesn’t mean product has shipped. We did not miss the preorder shipping date 2-4 weeks. You did. I’m so disappointed in the ordering process and the fact that reviews are not easily found despite the admitted problem over a week ago.

Can’t say I blame you. The wait is killing me and I think the manufacture blew it but she couldn’t say it. I feel your pain. After sending an email to the address in my order confirmation, a shipping label was finally printed on Friday, but my order still hasn’t shipped yet. I’m extremely disappointed with this process. I had hoped to have the makeup by the time the stuff I was using ran out, but at this point I doubt that’ll happen. Cara totally missed the mark on this, and I doubt I’ll ever try reordering. It’s just not reliable enough for the amount of $$ I’m shelling out.

I don’t know why you’re so upset, it said it would SHIP (not arrive) in 2-4 weeks, and she stated that they were shipping last week (that’s 4 weeks, just like the website said). It’s makeup, it’s not that serious. It’ll be there soon, and if it’s even better than the first generation, than it will be worth the wait. Plus Mascara Cosmetics is a fairly new and small business have patience and a little compassion.

No doubt its going to be another home run for Cara but, I think your a little off on your days by a week. My products still have not shipped according to the tracking information.. Shipping label was created 5 days ago. Upgraded the shipping and I’m 6 hours away. I ordered last generation and her amazing product was not rolled out like this. Ran out of medium and was told for almost a year it was on its way. Those that ordered the medium could be having a case of Post Traumatic Mascara Makeup Disorder. Some lucky shoppers got theirs weeks ago and having been calling it amazing. We are no doubt going to love it because she rocks and knows her stuff. Would hate for her to lose out on $$$ because people were upset. Clearly something went wrong because things do… Murphy’s Law, addressing the problem would have help those that are bitting their nails. My nails are gone but I’m still a supporter

I had always plucked but never filled and now I look back at so many photos and wish I had started earlier. I don’t go anywhere without doing my eyebrows first. I was talking with my mom about what we should do together on President’s Day & told her I thought we should go get our brows done. I proceeded to scold her for not using the Brow Whiz pencil I bought her FOR MOTHER’S DAY & she claimed she didn’t know how.

So I offered to show her. And then she got all defensive about her brows & I’m like “woah, mom. calm down. wanna see mine from just 3 years ago? [shows photo of self with full-on Betty Boop cartoon brows] there. No more feeling ashamed, just let me show you how it’s done & move on from there” …. But no, she still hasn’t let me show her how to use the Brow Whiz. Silly Mama. 😛 I should show her this post.
