Before & Afters Makeup

Makeover Monday!

I had such a good time getting to know Amanda. She is obviously such a stunning woman!
I really wanted to bring out her eyes and make them a major focal point but it’s pretty hard to compete with those lips and that 10000 watt smile!
Brown eyes are truly my favorite. I feel like when you got big brownies – the world is your oyster.

What she’s wearing:

IIID Foundation in Sunlit (highlight) + Stone (contour) + Pink Grapefruit (blush & Lips)+ Pearl Illuminator
a heavy line of It Cosmetics Liner Love in Black
MAC eye shadow in Tempting
MAC Brun (for the brows)
L’Oreal Voluminous mascara

The store opening party is tonight!!!! AHHHHH!
I’m so darn excited my heart is racing just typing this right now.
It’s gonna be a blast so even if you aren’t shopping I hope you’ll still stop by! I put a lot of thought into ways to really make it the most fun party we could have without actually being in the same room! There’s gonna be games, prizes, question answering and shadespotting here on the blog, on facebook & on instagram (got a few different spots just to make sure you all can be there!)
Meet me here at 6pm PST. (I’ll have the link to the store then!)

Love you all!!!

Her eyes are absolutely stunning! My husband has those big brown eyes & I couldn’t be more jealous! I feel a little weird about the liner though. I don’t know… The rest is perfection. I can’t wait for tonight!! So exciting 🙂

Oof. I’ll have to see if I can stay awake. 9 pm is my bedtime these days.

She looks gorgeous. Those cheekbones! I really love the coordinating lips and cheeks.

Totally agree – she is gorgeous, but I can’t help but see “makeup” here because of the eyeliner which feels too harsh and maybe could have been blended more? I am super impressed with how you changed the shape of her eyes though. As usual, incredible work!

Your ability to transform a beautiful makeup-free face into a beautiful made up face never fails to amaze me. You have so much talent! Can’t wait to see what you do next. Good luck and have fun tonight!

She’s absolutely stunning! Love what you did with her eyes.
Im SOOO excited to buy your new product!!! I’m a bit worried though because I won’t be off work until 3 hours into the launch party. Are you anticipating a sell-out in any colors? I was a medium in your first generation product and have been anxiously waiting for this day ever since I ran out and couldn’t order more! I will go hide in the bathroom and order on my phone if I have to at work!!! lol let me know:)

What a gorgeous girl and a great glam makeover. The liner on the lower lid wouldn’t last 5 minutes on me.

Try the Silkissime liner. Cara recommended it a while back. It has major staying power even in the waterline. Seriously lasts most of the day on me.

Hi Cara! She looks beautiful…edgy and cool! I just have a quick question in regards to your launch. Chances are, you’re going to sell out again. Will it be a long time before you are back in stock do you think? I’m DYING to try your products again, but being so close to Christmas means that I’m a broke mama! Waaahhhhhhh! Haha. I’ll have my finances under control by next month, and I’m hoping that I’ll still get a chance to purchase! 🙂

I’m confused.. is it April fools day? I usually absolutely love your makeover Mondays but today’s post looks like it came straight out of one of those “do this not that” posts where this would be the example of what not to do with eyeliner..

Right?! I actually really dig dark eyeliner, but it kind of looks incomplete on eye…like a little uneven and too harsh. I’ve never felt that way when looking at any of Cara’s makeovers before-but its strange.

I have to agree with some other comments. When I opened the emai all l saw was black eyeliner 🙁 She is a beautiful lady and I love the rest of the makeover but the eyeliner is a little to harsh for me. Perhaps a soft dark brown would look better. Otherwise I love the skin!

Beautiful! Did you put the shadow all over her eyelid or just in the crease?

I love your Monday makeovers, but I think I will have to agree with the other comments here. Her eyeliner is so black and distracting. I have seen you do some awesome makeovers, but I don’t know what happened here.

The eyeliner would’ve been great if it had been extended all the way to the inner corners of the eye and possibly a little smudgier? It just seems to stop abruptly. And I’m no stranger to a bold liner 😉

I have no problem with an occasional dramatic liner. It looks good! Not an everyday look but that wasn’t the objective 🙂 although am I crazy or are her eyebrows different shades? I seriously remind myself they are sisters not twins everyday doing my eyebrows haha.

Always love your work Cara and your makeovers usually hit it out of the park! But the liner under her eyes here is all I can see when I look at her. She’s stunning though! Congrats on your new line 🙂

Cara, I’m so excited for tonight! Does your makeup work better with a brush or will it be just as good with a sponge?

I hate to say it, but I agree with a lot of the other comments. I hate her eye makeup. It really looks way to harsh and unfinished.

I agree with a lot of the other commenters that are perplexed by the eyeliner (although this lady is beautiful, and so is the rest of the makeup)! I LOVE your work and blog, Cara, and I am a huge fan!! I would never just bash or be negative for the sake of being negative, but I admit I am surprised by the eyeliner application! However, this is literally the FIRST makeover that I did not absolutely love…you always knock it out of the park and are so talented. Maybe it’s just our untrained eyes that aren’t seeing what you saw with the eyeliner 🙂

I instantly thought, is she testing us here? I think I missed the usual big lashes on this one, I like thick eyeliner but it seems to make her eyes look smaller than I was expecting, I like to predict what youre going to do with the after when I look at the befores…with this one I though you would go exotic winged liner with big lashes… afterwards though, I wondered whether I expect to see certain things because Ive seen them before and am expecting that killer cant mistake it “maskcara” look, and i think its bold and brave of you to go outside the box and mix things up a little… haha look what you’ve done here, a marching procession of girls that expect only perfection they see as perfection in their eyes – what have you created? haha well done as always!! xxx

She looks gorgeous, although I am not crazy about the heavy eyeliner, it would have looked better if it was softer, a bit more blended. But, she is a gorgeous woman 🙂

Hi, I see you do a lot of make up on younger (I’m 51) women. I am interested in your make up but was wonderingly if you could comment on how it’s blends on more mature skin. I so love the concept of the crimes!!!!!

I normally love your makeovers but I just need to say….not everyone needs to be “HAC’d”. Contouring has gotten out of control. I think this woman is much more beautiful before, without all the unnecessary contouring…and her brows were perfect before too. But I normally do love your work!
