25 Best Costume Tutorials

One of the important things I’ve had to learn as a blogger is this: Just because I’m being asked about something, does not mean that I’m qualified to advise on it. Sounds pretty simple but even though I really want to help anyone who comes to me with makeup requests, sometimes I have to sit back and say, “You know what, I’m not  good at/educated on/or practiced at that.”
Which certainly doesn’t mean I’m gonna leave you high and dry, it just means I have to either get educated, practice and/or master said thing (which may or may not be possible) OR find someone who already has. In the case of Costume makeup, I just haven’t done much of it!

My heart has always been in the everyday beauty and when Halloween comes around I generally go for funny costumes and haven’t often tried to do anything really cool and intricate.

I want to get really really good at it but in the meantime, there are loads of incredible artist who already are costume geniuses.
So Rachel and I waded through the rabbit hole of rabbit holes that is youtube in an effort to narrow it down to our favorite 25 tutorials.
Pull out your popcorn, folks,  and start clicking, these tutorials are not only great ideas, they are nothing short of fascinating to watch. I’m dying to try every single one of them. I just need like 20 new wigs and a half a dozen pairs of colored contacts

. You HAVE to check these out, they are great ideas and totally mind blowing transformations!

I hope you love these as much as I do and….um…Sorry about taking up your entire afternoon.
P.S.  Thank you all so much for your kind words, your interest and all of your incredible support! I had such a wonderful day waking up to your words and then reading them all through out the day. I promise to post more about the product ASAP, I just wanted to get this one in before it was too late for Halloween!

If you go to YouTube and just type in “split face tutorial” it will show up! I thought that was a really cool look, too, but I don’t think it was actually linked onto the list.

First off, you are AMAZING! I love your blog so much, and your incredible positive, loving attitude towards everyone. You are so inspiring. Thank you for everything you do!

Secondly, with you doing such great posts for Halloween costumes and makeup recently, I wanted to share this article I found today: it says that over-the-counter contacts like the ones people use for costumes are TERRIBLE for your eyes! Such a bummer because they add so much to a costume- luckily it looks like you can get some by prescription (even if you don’t normally wear them) that will be safe. But since you have worn them in some of your tutorials and including them in Halloween posts I thought you might not know this- I definitely didn’t!

I’m doing my husband up as Kratos for this year, hope it turns out good! Have you decided what you’re gonna do?

Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword….wait there’s even more Now what if i told you there was a simple WordPress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That’s right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. Seo Plugin
