Smarter than a 5th Grader?

I come from a family of 9 kids. So when I tell you that I didn’t receive any adult help with my 5th grade science project, you believe me.

My brilliant idea was to mold play dough onto my face creating custom fit mask. The next step was to  apply makeup in the eye, cheek and lip areas.  Set aside til’ morning. Now all you have to do to get a full face of makeup was to press the mask up to your face and Voila! This amazing plan afforded you beauty (an important priority of mine) and sleeping in (an even higher priority). It was perfect…if only it had actually worked.

I tell you this story because it was the first thing that came to my head when I saw Loreal’s new eyeshadow product:

In case you can’t see see the words under the three thumbnails on the bottom they read:

Swipe Down, Swipe Across, Finished look.
They don’t even have the dignity of a custom fitted swiper!

Really Loreal? Really?

Thank you! I thought the same thing when I saw this ad. There is no way it can work. Maybe only on the very first swipe before the colors blend together and uneven ware occurs. What a joke! Love your science project idea!

Cara! I just recently found your blog, I have to say, it is SO fun and full of so many ‘AH-HA’s’ 🙂 I’m assuming you’re still in the St. George area, which is always fun to find cool people in our area! Your posts are fun to read and with a goal of not stalking your blog and borrowing some of your makeup techniques, I thought I’d drop you a line of appreciation and praise! Keep it up, I love it and I love that it shows your passion for what you do! Thanks again!

I love that your 5th grade science project had to do with make-up!
